David Farling

David J. Farling, age 84, died peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018. David grew up in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania and spent most of his adult life in Chester County where he and his wife Pegge (deceased 2009) raised their three children. He was a graduate of Lebanon Valley College (BS Economics) and Penn State University (MS Business Administration) and was a certified public accountant. He spent two years in the Army Reserves. David spent his entire career at Coopers & Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he became a partner in 1969. He retired from the firm in 1992. He was an avid gardener and wine collector. He and his wife Pegge shared a passion for travel. He took an active interest in the activities of his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed cheering for them whether it was from the side of a rugby field or a swimming pool. Most recently David was very active at his retirement community, Waverly Heights, where he served as the president of the residents’ association, was on the board of trustees, was a member of the wine committee, and enjoyed moderating Coffee and Conversation. He was well known for his sense of style and was often seen wearing his flat cap. David is survived by his children David, Linda Clemons, Robert, their spouses and grandchildren Peri, Sydney, Jeffrey, Hunter, Ava and Jack.
