Helen Dixon Helen I. Dixon, age 88 died peacefully with her family by her side on February 24, 2015. She was born July 27, 1926 in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Emil F and Ellen R. Porter [Potrafke]. She attended Lower Merion Schools. She is survived by her four children, Sandra Adams, Diana Joyce Young, Richard Dixon and Anthony Lepera [Karen]; her beloved grandchildren Martine, Jay, Hollye [Brett], John, Trevis, Erik, Andrew, Kyle and her beloved Great Grandchildren, Alyssa, Tyler, Giaonna, Johnny, Delaney, Savana and Giavana. She started her career in the construction business in the 1950’s with Lepera Construction and quickly learned the trade. She took pride in her work. She was a member, since 1969, and past President of the National Association of Women in Construction since 1969. She opened her own construction company in the mid 1980’s. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, and accomplished visiting all 50 States. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Lower Merion Town Watch for many years, and a life-long member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where she held many positions including the head of the Church’s building and grounds committee. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M., Sat., Mar. 7, 2015 with memorial services beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of St. Johns, 404 Levering Mill Road, Bala Cynwyd, PA, 19004. Both organizations fund research to find a cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa.
