I am sorry to hear of Dr. MacVaugh´s passing. I was a Surgical Resident at Graduate Hospital and scrubbing with a talented teacher is forever a treasured memory for a young surgeon.
Years later we had the pleasant surprise to meet again in the San Francisco Bay Area, at the home of his old college roommate from Penn.

Mr. McVaugh was a remarkable person. No one could wear a butterscotch toupee like this man, or could put his fingers in the cookie jar more times than he did. What a ladies man! Thanks doc, I will always remember your 5 dollar Christmas tip each year. Your generous spirit was extraordinary.

Horace always had a welcoming smile on his face and a positive and intelligent comment about the events we attended at the Union League. Prayers for his wonderful family that they might remember how much he loved them.

He was one heck of a fun steelhead fishing companion. In addition to all his other accomplishments, he was an acknowledged anchor on the annual western river trip with friends . He often led the steelhead catch of an accomplished angler group. To top it off he was a wonderful and loyal friend with whom I often hiked the redwoods of the Bohemian Grove. I´ll miss him.
