Janet Silcox Obituary

Janet Kay (Phillips) Silcox of Wayne, PA Janet Kay (Phillips) Silcox died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on May 1, 2017. She is the beloved wife of 59 years to W. Peter, the loving mother to Tara Pickard (Andy), Shawn Corr (Bob), and Erin Leidich (Dave), and the adoring grandmother of Hallie, Jake, Drew, Luke, Caroline, Patrick, Maisie and Cate. Janet was born on April 7, 1936 in Detriot, MI, attended Retford High and graduated from Albion College (MI), where she majored in Education and Music. Children and teaching were her passion. Janet taught elementary school and most recently spent 20 years teaching at St. Davids Nursery School. She also volunteered at the Neighborhood League, Surrey Services and Wayne Presbyterian Church. Janet loved her friends, board games, shopping, reading and most importantly spending time with her family. Janet is also survived by her brother, James Phillips, and her sister, Valery Daganzo (Carlos) both of CA. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 5th at 11:00 at Wayne Presbyterian Church, 125 E. Lancaster Ave., Wayne, PA 19087. The family would like to thank all those who have sent their prayers, thoughts and well wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Davids Nursery School, 765 Valley Forge Road, Wayne, PA 19087.
