Bruce Allan Schimke, age 65, of Manistee Michigan suffered a heart attack and passed away on October 18th, 2021.
Bruce was born May 27, 1956, in Muskegon to Harvey and Helmi Schimke. After high school, he spent a large portion of his life in Texas, where he worked as a construction project manager at DynaTen. He later returned to Michigan to take over the family farm and to refocus on his family. He became the Maintenance Supervisor of Manistee County where he oversaw day-to-day operations as well as many projects affecting the residences and businesses of Manistee County, for over 13 years. Bruce was a kind giant, with a bold, loud and loving personality, who loved to help improve the lives of others. He loved God with all his heart and is with Him now. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family. Many aspects of Bruce will be missed, especially the advice he gave and the way he would lovingly give those around him a hard time.
Bruce is survived by his two children, their spouses, 2 grandchildren, his mother, and sister. He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be held at Oak Grove Funeral Home on Parkdale Ave. in Manistee on November 13, 2021. Visitation will be from 9:30 am – 11:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am. The family requests that all people wear a mask if you are able.
