Lonny Alan Wright, 56, of Branch, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at Corewell Health Ludington Hospital. He was born June 3, 1969, in Adrian, Michigan.
Lonny was employed as a correctional officer at The Oaks Correctional Facility in Manistee for 26 years until his medical retirement in December 2024. Lonny was very active in fitness and sports, and also enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling and camping. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always there to help anyone who needed it. Lonny also helped coach his daughter's volleyball and wrestling teams, and truly loved helping kids.
On September 8, 2007, in Onekama, Lonny married Hilary Jackson, who survives him. He is also survived by: his daughter, Mackenzie Wright; his mother, Judith (John) Bromley; his step-mother, Sam Wright; 2 brothers, Jerry Wright and Troy (Jodi) Small; several nieces; his best friend, Scott (Aschelle) VanZandt; and all of his friends at 321 Wellness in Grand Haven and NorthStar Fitness in Ludington.
Lonny was preceded in death by: his father, Gerald Wright; and his brother, Yancy Small; his mother in law Patsy Jackson (Richard) and his grandparents.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 17, 2025, at Radiant Church, in Ludington. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, and at Radiant Church on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ludington High School Volleyball and Wrestling Programs.
