William Eric Clark, age 67, passed away at his home in Onekama on November 12, 2023 after a long illness.
He was born in Manistee on December 8, 1956. He was the youngest of three sons to Kenneth & Doris Clark. William was named after his two grandfathers – William Clark and Eric Johnson. He attended Jefferson Public School as a youth and graduated from Onekama High School. William enjoyed all sports and was an outstanding basketball player for the Portagers, being named MVP and ALL Conference. He graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor Degree. William worked 30 plus years for Steelcase in Grand Rapids. He retired to his home in Onekama, overlooking Portage Lake, which he loved. In his younger days, he worked with his parents and brothers for the family business "Clark News Agency". William loved his sports, golf especially, he was a good player. His favorite football team was Alabama Crimson Tide and their coach Nick Saban. Like the Frank Sinatra song "I Did It My Way" is how William lived his life. William is buried next to his parents in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery – Manistee.
William was preceded in death by his parents and his two older brothers, Michael and Clark. He is survived by his relatives and friends.
The Herbert Funeral Home of Manistee was in charge of all funeral/burial arrangements in November of 2023.
