Ruby Hamilton Obituary
She was born February 5, 1916 in Palmyra to Halva C. and Myrtle E. (Leedy) Dill, and spent all of her life in the Bellville area.
A hard worker and such an excellent cook, Ruby worked in the kitchens of area restaurants like The BellInn, The Black Kettle and V&M Restaurant.
She was a member of Bellville Senior Citizens, Coffee Cup Club, Fun-n-Friendship Club, the Lexington Senior-Civic Center, and attended New Life Church of Christ.
No one had to suggest a shopping trip to Ruby twice, or a night out playing bingo. She kept a well maintained, neat yard, and after her work was done, enjoyed a few quiet moments sitting on her front porch. Ruby was so content to be on her front porch, waving to neighbors and passers-by ~ she knew everyone in Bellville, and everyone knew her.
She had a tremendous love for her sons ~ in her eyes, the sun rose and set on those two boys, yet she had enough love to cover her entire family.
Left to remember her beautiful smile are her sons and daughters-in-law, Robert E. and Anna L. Hamilton of Bellville, and Richard L. and Betty Hamilton of Ashland; grandchildren, Becky & Brad Walker, Melinda Worner, Debbie Walker, Robert "Snook" Hamilton, Kurtis E. Hamilton, Richard "Rick," Jr. & Cindy Hamilton, David & Stephanie Hamilton, Darren & Dee Hamilton and Dawn Clyburn; 23 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William M. Hamilton in 1999; a great grandson; a sister, Janice Weyhmeller; and brothers, George, Mike, and Glenn Dill.
The Hamilton Family will receive friends Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. Pastor Steve Kistler will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions to the Jefferson Township-Bellville Rescue Squad may be made at the funeral home.
