Angeline Haring Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 12, 2026.
BELLVILLE: With grateful hearts, we remember and honor the life of Angie Haring, who went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 8, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Angie was 93. A faithful follower of Christ, she lived her life rooted in prayer, service, and unwavering belief.

Angeline "Angie" Jean Haring was born on September 11, 1932 in Granite City, Illinois to parents Sam and Katherine (Stanichkov) Tomich. She graduated from Granite City Community High School in 1950, then moved to Akron where she attended Actual Business College. She worked as a secretary with Roadway Express in Akron until marrying her husband, James W. Haring, on March 21, 1954. They shared 71 extraordinary years of marriage, walking hand in hand through life with love and devotion to each other and the Lord.

In 1961, they received an invitation to serve as missionaries with the Melvin Huber family in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Angie traveled with Carol Boich and their combined six young children on the journey from Ohio to Brazil, doing so with grace and remarkable faith. Jim and Angie became treasured friends with the Huber family. This was the beginning of their lifelong journey to generously support many missionaries, often visiting them internationally and hosting them at their home in Ohio.

The Haring house was affectionately referred to as the "Haring Hotel," a warm and inviting place where there was almost always someone new living or visiting for an extended stay. Angie's hospitality was legendary. She welcomed anyone who came through her door with a home-cooked meal and hot pot of coffee.

Angie was a founding member of Ontario Christian Fellowship (Crossroads) with a heart for service. She dedicated herself to her church, singing in the choir, serving in the kitchen, teaching Sunday school, mentoring/encouraging others, and helping wherever she was needed. She enjoyed singing in a quartet with her husband, Jim, for many years. Her love for music, especially hymns, was a joyful expression of her faith and a comfort to many.

She was deeply loved by her husband, children and many grandchildren. God gave Angie a compassionate heart for others. She raised her children with that strong foundation to love others and to live for God in the same way. Her entire family cherishes her example of faith, kindness, and devotion to the Lord. As scripture says in Proverbs 31:28, "Her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband joins them in praising her."

She is survived by her husband James W. Haring; their children Jim (Kim) Haring, Jr. of Columbus, Lynne (Greg) Loesch of Bellville, Bob (Dale Anne) Haring of Dublin, Steve (Cindy) Haring of Bellville, Amy Schultz of Phoenix, AZ, and Tom (Adrianne) Haring of Mansfield; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings Pauline "Pinky" Stuber of Tremont, IL, Dave Tomich of Barberton, Julia Tracey of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, and Betty Mason of Green, OH; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Martha (Harold) Kupfer, brother Walter (Donna) Tomich and sister Dorothy (Jerry) Skidmore; brothers-in-law Kenneth Stuber, Bill Tracey and Chuck Mason; sister-in-law Millie Tomich.

The Haring family will receive friends on Friday, February 20th, 2026 from 4-7pm at Crossroads Community Church, 636 South Lexington-Springmill Road. Calling hours will continue on Saturday, February 21st from 10am-11am, where a worship service giving glory to God for the life of Angie J. Haring will begin promptly at 11am, officiated by Greg Loesch. A private burial with the family will take place in Bellville Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Angie's memory may be made to PAZ International (PAZInternational.org PO Box 2837, East Peoria, IL 61611-2837).

Angie Haring was a Saint in my eyes. She was definitely the Lord's hands and feet in this world today. We worked together as Cub Scout moms and were active with our children at Mansfield Christian School. My sincere condolences to the entire large Haring family for your loss. I am sure she has realized her reward in Heaven and continues to watch and pray for us. You will be in Jeff and my prayers. Love, Pat Brook
