Dinxy had a favorite saying...anytime you asked him (teasingly) for money, he would reply, "Don't hold your breff (breath)!" I will never forget that as long as I live!
What a day that will be...when we all get to heaven!

I can not conceive of Tim being gone. He was a constant at Mansfield Baptist Temple along time before I got there. No pastor ever had a more faithful or supportive church member. No matter how discouraging things might be you could always count on Tim to bring a smile to your face. I can still see him setting on that second row to my left and when he thought it was time for the service to be over stretching out his harm so he could see the watch on his wrist! I knew it was time to start wrapping things up. Some might wonder what real quality of life he might have had...that would only be people that knew of his limitations but did not know him! Tim was a blessing and encouragement to people all over this country. Once in an educators convention Dr. Buzz Baker was giving an illustration of a young man in Mansfield Ohio who had come forward to offer his life to serve God. Dr. Baker mentioned his disability but used his willingness to challenge those who were "normal" to give their all to serve God. After the meeting I went to him and asked the name of that young man and he said "Tim Harvey and I have used that illustration all over the country." Tim had a ministry far beyond just the reach of his own community. I could talk for a long time about Tim stories but we will do that together some day in heaven. There is still a picture of Tim in my Bible. Since Tim and I were born in the same year I started doing it to remind myself how blessed I have been. However, after watching Tim for awhile I began to realize Tim had no pressure or stress on him, no one giving him a hard time and it became apparent that he really got the better end of the deal!! Now the picture is in my Bible to just remind me of a true friend. I wish it were possible to be there for his service...but be assured we will never forget Tim Harvey.

Oh Tim.. came to countless get together's at Ron's shop for the holidays. He loved eating & taking home leftovers that dad made sure that mom give him plenty to take home. He would have his "fanny pack" belted around his waist. We would ask how much money you have in there Tim and his comment always was the same with his head tilted towards the side he would say "Don't you worry about it! & pat that pack as if he had a million bucks in it" and give his ol'chuckle as he always did. RIP Tim

Dinxy or Dinxie as he was known, was the most original Harvey character of them all. With his uncanny wit and outrageous laugh, there will never be another like him. Here's an example of how Uncle Tim saw life: Shake a Puddin' was a snack craze in the 60s and their tag line was, "What a crazy way to make a snack!" Tim's unique take on that? "Ka-razy make a snack!" And he exclaimed it with a finger wag before we even knew what that was.
Dinxy is now "sing(ing) and shout(ing) the victory!" in the presence of his and our precious Lord with all his family on the "other" side of the Jordan...can't wait to see him someday!
