I knew Arthur from about 1963 to 1966 when I lived in San Rafael prior to being drafted and never seeing him again. However, his face and memory are as if from yesterday. He was a cheerful fellow and we had fun together. He would come over to my apartment regularly and we would listen to Beach Boy's music and do stuff together. He bought a new blue Chevrolet with a corvette transmission and my friend Pete did an amazing power-shift with it. Pete's gone too. The old times were fun and the years flew by. Art was studying to work in a laboratory but I see he later went into photography. He once invited me to go with him and his family to Yellowstone Park. I see he had a wife and family and what looks like a nice life, so I am happy for him. I remember his smiling face. He was one of my best friends. May he rest in peace.
