Assunta Wonacott Obituary

Assunta Maria Wonacott "Grandma Sue", age 93 years, left this world peacefully on March 3rd, 2006 in Kailua, Hawaii. A resident of San Francisco, she was born in Terravecchia, Calabria, Italy on April 26th, 1912. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Wonacott, her parents, Joseph and Serafina Parisi, and her six siblings, Maria Di Pego, Josephine Magliocco, Maria Rosa, Vincent, Frank and Fred Parisi. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Fran and Peter Ackenheil and Norma Sue and Richard Robel; her grandchildren, Kathleen and Timothy Preston, Suzanne and Paul Ross and Erin Ackenheil; her great grandchildren, Taylor Grant and Hannah and Zachary Ross; her best friend, Bette McMichael and her caregiver, Flor Tarrega. She also leaves many relatives and friends in both California and Hawaii. Her sparkling personality will be missed by all who knew her. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, March 14th, 2006 after 4:00 PM and are invited to attend the Vigil Service also on Tuesday at 6:00 PM and the Funeral Service on Wednesday, March 15th, 2006 at 9:30 AM from the Chapels of VALENTE MARINI PERATA & CO., 4840 Mission Street, SF, thence to St. Emydius Church where a 10:00 AM Funeral Mass will be celebrated.
