-I know this is late but I only just saw this message board-
I fell in love with Christopher as a baby when I first saw him at Elan Fitness center. He was SO adorable, soft and sweet! There was something so kind about his nature and the expression that came from his shy smile underneath his tufts of red hair, that only further revealed what a gentle soul he was. I was graced with the opportunity to care for him at their family home for over a year and felt welcomed and part of a very loving, kind family. I am honored to have babysat for him and gotten to know the Snowden/Balestreri family and know for Chris as long as I did. I have been deeply saddened by him moving on and my heart breaks for your loss. I truly wish you all the best in your healing and think of you often. Love, Danya.
I'm so grateful I got to meet him as a young man 16 years later and talk with him :)

Dear Mr. Gregg Snowden and Ms. Sophia Belforte Balestreri,
Please accept my deepest condolences; I only learned earlier today about the passing of your fine son, Christopher Page Snowden. By telephone Staff Sgt. John Berube informed me this late morning.
Since receiving the news, I have learned more about Christopher's life and family and dreams from several memorial postings, lovingly and sensitively written.
It was my honor to coordinate Buddhist Services at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, which, I am told, Christopher attended. This attendance should perhaps not be surprising, as the Unitarian Universalist Church has long been a friend to so many spiritual paths.
I am sorry I did not know Christopher better. But it is comforting to read and learn about him, and how he was surrounded by such a large, loving family and so many thoughtful, caring friends.
Tonight at home and on Sunday at MCRD, we will burn incense in memory of your son. That act is not meant to be presumptive about Christopher's condition in the beyond or his native religious affiliations.
Rather we burn incense in his memory to mark his passing formally, to thank him for what he did while he was alive, and to be soberly reminded of the fragility of this life.
Again, please accept my sincerest sympathies. I believe the Staff Sgt. has my telephone number to share with you, if I can be of assistance in any way.
Paul Katz, M.D.

Dear Sophia, Greg, Michael and Jeremy,
I am shocked and saddened to hear just now of Christopher's passing. His subtle wit, boyish grin, flame-red hair and self-deprecating humor always brought lightness to the exam room and the office, even if the subject were not that light.
Your concern, caring, guidance and support for Christopher was exemplary as parents and brothers.
I mourn with you and remain at your service.

In that there are simply no words to console the heart as you experience this devastating loss, please know that we wrap you warmly in our thoughts and prayers, and trust that Christopher's star will shine brightly, forever and for many. I am happy to have had the opportunity to know him - not well, but enough to appreciate his unique and quiet determination.
