George Nicol

1948 - 2022

George Richard Nicol, a kind and brilliant man, died of cancer on December 16, 2022. He was born in San Francisco on February 22, 1948, and grew up in Atherton. George was a Managing Director with Wells Fargo Advisors and a highly successful professional, leading the Nicol/Quasha Investment Group. Since graduating from UC Berkeley in 1970, George forged a career as a financial advisor and developed close and personal relationships with his clients and colleagues for over 40 years.George spent much of his youth traveling with his family and was fluent in several languages. This ability allowed him to move through the world with an open mind and a generous heart. He will always be remembered for his passion, intellect, empathy, and sense of humor. Anyone who knew George appreciated him as an utterly unique, irreplaceable man. We will miss him more than words can say.As a longtime resident of Novato, George participated in many charitable endeavors, including his several years on the Novato Soccer Board and also serving on the board of North Marin Community Services (formally Novato Youth Center).He is survived by his wife, Jean, whom he adored for more than 40 years, his beloved children, Selina, Loney, and George, and his grandsons, Dashiel and Keaton.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Marin Community Services: https://www.northmarincs.org.
