Dear Sue,

I knew you and John through Diana when we lived in Montross. I am so sorry to read of John's passing. He was such a gentleman, so very dear. And smart and thoughtful and socially aware. I hope you have many fond memories of him to comfort and cheer you.

While surfacing I just happened to come across John's obit. Seeing his name brought back such fond memories of his family's summer visits to Kentucky. The Austins brought sophistication, charm and fun to a small town. John's mother Helen, a Kentucky beauty & Harold taught me to Fox Trot. His sister Diana & John would go night clubbing to a town called Lebanon to hear Little Richard perform. Aside from Fox Trotting, we were real Jitter Buggers. The Austins, including Aunt Edie were my mentors.
