I met Dave when he came to Alexandria Louisiana as the Human Resources Manager. I respected Dave very much as H/R Manager and as a very wise man. I will truly miss Dave. Much prayers to the entire family for your loss. But also a loss to the UTLX family.

I started with Union Tank Car in the Chicago IL office around the time Dave hired out at the Marion OH shop (1982). Working on Human Resource issues, Dave and I quickly became long distance friends...talking about our joint interests in cars, railroads, etc. Dave had a witty personality, was extremely hard working and very good at what he did (he was dependable and efficient). I feel honored to have known Dave, and my prayers go out to his family. God Bless. Tom Biscan

Steve, Bruse, and Matt... We've known each other almost all of our entire lives, and it deeply saddens me to learn of Davis' passing. He and I spent so many years play football against each other all through school... he was a Viking and me, a Spratan !! Later on, we officiated many games together... about 19 years worth... till I had to give it up. But, you guys have my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. If there's ANYTHING I can do for you, all you need do is ask. I know David will keep his flag in his pocket and the clock running !!! Rest in peace, my dear friend... I know you will be greeted with open and loving arms.

Steve, Bruce, and Matt: So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. I can't ever remember not knowing Dave and your entire family. Many fun times spent with all of you with the Circle M Horsemen club of our parents and in the Rough Riders 4-H Club. I remember one time at your house when Dave scolded Matthew for riding Eato, your giant German Shepherd, around inside the house. Good memories, great family, huge loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

35 years he kidded me about being 19 years older than he.
My heart is breaking for his family.

My first impression upon meeting Dave 25 years ago was a man I could trust and one who was in command of a situation. In the years we worked in EMS education together, my respect for him only increased. I knew I could depend on him for a straight answer and never doubted the wisdom of it. Dave's contribution to the world around him will be sorely missed.
