Raab, Carol (1935-2016)

Carol Jean Raab, age 80, of Cascade passed away at home with her loving family at her side on Wednesday evening, April 27, 2016.

She was born in Marshfield, WI on August 31, 1935, a daughter of the late Leo and Clara (Poehlein) Sauer.

She married Arnold Raab and they lived in Cascade for 42 years on the "A Rabbs Ranch".

Through the years they had a full life. They were involved with many horse activities with their business. They did buggy rides for weddings and many parades including the Great Circus Parade in Milwaukee, meeting Ernest Borgnine, Elizabeth Montgomery and Tom Wopat! They also did sleigh rides for company picnics and lots of rides at the house.

She worked at Borden's for 28 years, retiring in 1998, and then was a stay at home Mom. She got to travel with to Florida to see her sister Joyce. She and Joyce went to Haiti to see her sister Deanne and she also travelled to Argentina with her son Rick, Lanna and family.

Carol enjoyed gardening and her birds (humming birds and all kinds) and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also the best cook and baker you could meet. She enjoyed canning, gardening, country and gospel music and dancing. She especially enjoyed her ice cream night with the Bordens Gang: Russell, Faith, Alice, Marie and Elnale.

She is survived her loving husband of 58 years: Arnold; Her oldest daughter: Roxane who moved back home to care for her mother and father; Children: Carmen (Chad, Brent, Amanda and great granddaughter Audrina), Tammy (Kayla and Selena), Lisa (Stephanie and fiancé Shane and son Jason), Rick (Lanna, Brittany and Brandon); sisters: Ruth Churney and Joyce Wright; brothers: Mark Sauer and Leon Sauer.

She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Deanne Hawley and Kathy Olsen; one brother ken Sauer and her granddaughter Tanya Schram.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday (May 1, 2016) at 2:00 P.M. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Father Wayne Bittner will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Eternal Light at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home on Sunday (May 1) from 11:00 A.M. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Carol's name.
