Thomas Netzer Obituary

Netzer, Thomas E.

Thomas E. Netzer, age 74, of Marshfield, died unexpectedly, Tuesday afternoon, April 2, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM Friday, April 5, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Sebastian Venni will officiate. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10:00AM Saturday, April 6, 2013 with Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post 54. A time of visitation will be held from 4-8:00PM Thursday, the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00PM at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield. Visitation will also be held from 10-11:00AM at the church on Friday.

Tom was born December 24, 1938 in Elgin, IL, the son of Robert and Mary (Klinger) Netzer. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1957.

He proudly served his country in the US Army and National Guard from 1957 to 1963.

On October 8, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield, Tom was united in marriage to Lorraine "Rainy" H. Kipp.

Tom owned and operated Tom's Alignment and Brake Automotive Garage for 42 years, until retiring in 2003.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a 4th degree Knight in the Fr. John Eisen Council 1799 of the Knights of Columbus.

Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed boating on the Mississippi, coffee at the KT, playing cards, shaking dice, Curling and camping. He also enjoyed restoring vintage and current model cars.

He is lovingly survived by his wife Rainy Netzer, Marshfield, children, Scott (Melissa) Netzer, Fond du Lac, WI; Craig (Mary Jo) Netzer, Schofield, WI; Shelly (Chuck) Reitz, New Berlin, WI; Stephanie (Gerard) Danielski, Plover, WI; Brad (Alissa) Netzer, Mosinee, WI; Brian (Susan) Netzer, Isanti, MN and John (Darcee) Netzer, Onalaska, WI.; 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Tom is further survived by brothers, Frank (Jan) Netzer, Holcombe, WI and Larry (Rita) Netzer, Medford, WI.

His parents and one brother, Robert preceded Tom in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Heart Assoc or the American Diabetes Assoc.
