Perry Mason Obituary

Dr. Alan Mason, 78, of Roanoke, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 2, 2022. He died peacefully in his home.
Dr. Mason was preceded in death by his parents, Perry C. Mason and Myrtle C. Mason; sisters, Betty Jean, Maxine, and Peggy; brothers, Charlie, Robert, Ralph, and Billy; his son, Dwayne; and granddaughter, Tiffany.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; his daughter, Tina (Jay); son, Aaron (Crissy); sister, Donna; grandchildren, Ethan (Shannon), Carly (Nick), Kaela, Kyler, and Rylen; and great-grandchild, Ava.
Dr. Mason was called into the Gospel Ministry at 22 years of age. He was a passionate Soul-Winner, Pastor, Church-Planter, and Evangelist. The focus of his ministry was to be a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Mason was a loving husband and father. He not only prayed for his children but with his children. He always had a listening ear and caring heart. He found great pleasure in God's nature and was an avid hunter.
A Graveside Service for family and friends will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at the Coleman-Hodges Cemetery located at 6505 Virgil H. Goode Highway, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Catawba Valley Baptist Church located at 10477 Catawba Road, Troutville, VA 24175.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Catawba Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 12, Catawba, VA 24070, www.catawbavalleybc.org. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.Oakeys.com.

We loved Dr. Mason so much. He won so many souls over to Christ. We always knew he prayed for our family. He was such a good friend, confidant, and he would always be there for you. Dr. Mason was also such a loyal supporter of Catawba Valley Baptist Church and loved the church and everyone in it. We will miss you so much Dr. Mason and it was an honor to have you for a friend and a Pastor. You are with your heavenly Father now and you are free of pain and have a brand-new heart.
