Aleksandr Y. Mashkovskiy, 62, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2025. He was born on February 6, 1963, in Kiev, Ukraine, to Yuriy and Raya (Khayan) Mashkovskiy.
In 1992, Aleksandr married Zhanna Mashkovskaya(Strugach), with whom he shared two beloved children, Margarita (Margo) and Simon. In December 1996, Aleksandr immigrated with his family to the United States, where he worked tirelessly to build a new life. He later married Oksana Doroshenko, with whom he shared many years of love, laughter, and quiet family life.
Aleksandr is survived by his wife, Oksana; daughter, Margo Mashkovskaya; son, Simon Mashkovskiy; step-son, Maksym Doroshenko; grandchildren, Arlo and Nolan; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Aleksandr grew up in the former Soviet Union, where he served in the military before studying engineering at university. A natural entrepreneur and dreamer, he went on to establish and run numerous businesses throughout his life.
He was a man of many talents and interests. Aleksandr loved spending time with his family and friends, listening to music of the 70's, fishing and smoking his catch, tinkering with projects, and above all, helping and bringing joy to those around him. He was a man of his word, often seen with a smile on his face, a joke on his lips, and a cigarette in his hand, always ready to make others laugh.
