Michael W. Rodd, 88, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow. He was born on November 18, 1937 in Springfield and was the son of the late Wilfred and Mary (Connors) Rodd. Michael was a truck driver for Admiral Building Products of East Springfield. Fondly known by his family as "Mickey" or "Uncle Mick", Michael was an avid New England sports enthusiast, especially the Patriots and UConn Basketball teams. He is survived by his wife, Mary Rodd; his daughter, Kathleen Borowiec and her husband, William, of Suffield, CT; two grandchildren, Rachel Borowiec and Owen Borowiec; sister, Ruth Lunsford of Agawam, and many beloved nephews and nieces. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Barbara Ciscon; brother, William Rodd; and stepsister, Constance Clark. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Baystate Medical Center Wesson 3 and Chestnut Hill for their care and compassion. Calling hours are on Tuesday March 10th at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee from 4 to 6 pm. His funeral will be Wednesday, March 11th 9:15 at the funeral home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Parker St. in Springfield at 11 am.
