Melissa passed away peacefully in the early morning of Monday October 6th, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born April 8, 1971 to Estella and James Ramsey, Melissa lived a full life of devotion, grace, and incredible strength. Despite facing the challenges of her battle with cancer, she remained strong in her fight, strong in her faith, and is a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her.
Melissa was a devoted wife of over 4 years to Scott Rodd. Together, they have 9 children and 13 grandchildren. She was a fiercely dedicated mother to her children and grandchildren, filling each of them with her boundless love. She will be deeply missed.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her family and friends. Her legacy will endure and her spirit will continue to inspire us all. In our hearts, she lives on and we will forever honor the legacy of a remarkable woman who made a lasting impact on the world. May her strength and resilience be an inspiration to us all as we walk through the struggles of grief.
Melissa was predeceased by her grandparents, Mary and Salvador Gonzalez, and nephew Dominik DeLeon. She is survived by her husband, Scott; her 5 children, Robert, Matthew, Mariah, Jacob, and Ariana; her 9 grandchildren, Alexander, Kylie, Armando, Levi, Jeremiah, Jordan, Jasmine, Gianna, and Alivia; her mother and father, Estella and James; her 3 sisters, Cynthia, Melinda, and Jennifer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation and Viewing: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2025 at Thompson’s Harveson and Cole Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole. The family invite you to join them immediately following the service for a reception in the Drawing Room at the funeral home.
Momma, thank you for all you have done for us. You will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. May you run free and whole in everlasting paradise and may you Rest in peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
