Scott Rodd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nelson Funeral Care - Cloquet on Jan. 15, 2026.
Scott Aaron Rodd, 61, of Cloquet, MN, passed away peacefully on January 14th, 2026, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 22nd, 1964, to George and Arlene (Orth) Rodd in Cloquet, Scott grew up in the Scanlon area with his 6 siblings, tagging along hunting, fishing, going to plays, and high school sports. He attended Scanlon Elementary, which he would often brag about to his Washington classmates. He graduated from Cloquet High School in 1982, then attended UMD.

He married the love of his life, Tami Anderson, and had two beautiful children, Tiffani and Denise.

Scott worked for many years in the "family business" at the Auto-Stop in Scanlon, and subsequently S.S.G. Corporation. He worked various other jobs throughout his life, even driving the Zamboni and working the softball fields to be close to his kids.

He was an avid sports fan and loved to cheer for any Minnesota professional team. Scott also loved golfing, bowling, playing pool, and winning cribbage.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents, George and Arlene; two sisters, who he adored so much, Tayna Curtiss and Wendy (Mike) Twomey.

He is survived by his daughters, Tiffani Rodd and Denise (Kristofer) McKinzie; grandchildren, Dawson, Brecken, and baby McKinzie on the way; siblings, Randall (Connie) Rodd, Kerry (Roni) Rodd, Timm (Nancy) Rodd, and Kipp Rodd; dear friend, Tami Rodd; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several wonderful lifelong friends.

The family would like to thank Essentia Health hospital staff, infusion center nurses, hospice care team, and the staff at Diamond Willow for making his last months comfortable. As well as all the friends and family that helped Scott get to his medical appointments, visited, and supported him through his battle with cancer.

Scott's "going away party" will be held on Monday, February 16th, 2026 at Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. To honor Scott's love of sports, feel free to wear your favorite sports team apparel… however, no Packer or North Dakota green.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Angel Fund of Northeastern Minnesota, an organization that assisted Scott during his battle.
