Gail Lee Miller Heavrin, 69, of Louisville, passed away on July 2, 2024. She was the wife of Brian Christopher Heavrin. She retired from Jewish Hospital with 44 years of service where she was a clinical laboratory scientist and taught many people in the chemistry lab. Gail was born on June 10, 1955, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She grew up in Mayfield, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Woodrow and Evelyn Miller. She was a graduate of Mayfield High School class of 1973 where she was salutatorian of her class. She was a graduate of David Lipscomb University class of 1977 in Nashville, Tennessee. Gail was a member of Westport Road Church of Christ and Louisville Ski Club. She was first chair clarinet for three years in the Mayfield High School Band. She had only one C in her life and that was in volleyball in college. Interests included reading, playing cards, entertaining, puzzles, Louisville Ski Club bowling, and lake life at Rough River Lake. Her favorite colors were royal blue and purple. She was a big Kentucky Wildcats fan.
Gail was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Miller, and her mother, Evelyn Miller. She is survived by sisters, Gloria Beadles (Dennis) and Glenda Bynum; and brother, Gary Miller (Janie). She left behind nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Also many friends and coworkers she thought of as family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her name to Healthwell Foundation, 20440 Century Blvd. Suite 250, Germantown, MD 20874.
Arrangements will be at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243. The memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Monday July 8, 2024. Burial followed at Resthaven Memorial Park 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218.
