My deepest condolensces to Andy's family. I played with him in College at Gettysburg and I was a member of the same fraternity. It was apparent early after I met him that he had a wonderful mind for the game. He was a great leader, friend and always kept us laughing. He was a great influence on me and I will always hold his memory in my heart. My prayers to his family.

My condolences on your loss of Andy. I was a Lehigh footballer from the late '70s and only watched Andy's and the team's progress from afar. Their success was evident from the week to week, year to year, scoreboards but his success as a man of character is much greater according to what I heard said of him by his players, teammates and coaching colleagues. God bless you all and Andy's memory.

He was a great man, taken from us too soon from a horrible disease. I know, because I had the honor of talking to him about his passion, Lehigh football, for his entire hall-of-fame coaching career. My condolences to the entire Coen family, all of his great, loyal friends that have been of incredible help, and God Bless you all. I hope in some way the words of his I've been able to preserve give some idea of the man that he was to so many.

Andy was simply a tremendous human being, a true leader and role model for the young men he coached and cared so much about. Lehigh was so fortunate to have him, and I was so fortunate to get to work with him. So respectful, he always managed to handle every tough situation with the utmost class. My sincerest condolences to his family. I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with and learn so much from him over the years. A great leader of young men.

Andy was a great football coach but an even better person. He always treated his players with respect and molded many young men. He was a pleasure to coach under. Class all the way.

On behalf of the Gettysburg Alumni Association, please accept our deepest condolences. Andy was a good man who brought honor to his alma mater through all that he did, and will be missed by all who knew him. As a contemporary of his and fellow history major at Gettysburg, I especially enjoyed watching his successful career unfold. I am so sorry for your loss, and we were proud to have Andy as an alumnus. We also know that the strong connections he helped create between Gettysburgians will continue to be part of his legacy. With Sympathy, Joe Lynch '85, Alumni Director

Andy prepared his teams very well week in and week out but what he also did was prepare all he coached for life by example. He was a man of great integrity, humor, warmth and commitment. I was very fortunate to interact with Andy and his family across many different instances both at work, at church and even around the neighborhood. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, former players and former coaches. Andy has touched us all in a very positive way.

I met Coach Coen in 2006 at Lehigh as a vendor working with Football and was fortunate to maintain a relationship with him for many years. Andy taught me various things throughout the time I knew him and he always treated those around him with dignity and respect. He set a great example for many young men and will be missed!

Coach Coen was OC at UPENN and coached my son Mike 2002-2003. Popular with the players he led the team to back to back Ivy League titles and high national ranking. He also built strong young men He was proud of his reams and shared that with parents. Husband dad and coach his family can stand proud. The Mitchell’s are so thankful for our time with him. I have so many wonderful memories of Andy. I enjoyed working with Andy on two separate occasions, once when he was an assistant football coach at Lehigh and again when he returned as Head Coach of the Lehigh football team. I loved watching his amazing teams that enjoyed so much success. And through it all Andy always remained the same humble, kind, and dedicated family man. He will be missed by so many and has left an amazing legacy to all that we’re blessed to have known him. Praying that God will surround Laura and Andy’s children with His grace.

I met Andy at Gettysburg College when I went to visit my brother Bob, they played football together, were roommates there and lifelong best friends. Andy was an amazing man, who loved his family and smiled every time he spoke of them. Molly, Nolan and Finn, go out in this world and bring with you all of your dads strength, his compassion for others, his integrity and honesty, most of all carry with you the love he had in his heart for each of you, for you were his greatest gifts in this life. He will be watching over you all, that I am certain of. Laura, I know you will see a part of Andy every time you look into your children's eyes, hear his voice in their laughter and feel his touch when the sun shines so warmly upon you. I remember one of the first times you shared together when we bumped into you both after Musikfest one year. He was turning on the charm that night and it worked too because you ended up getting married and had three beautiful children together who will carry on in his footsteps. May all of your happy, beautiful memories help you heal in the toughest moments, and hard days ahead, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.. with my most warmest thoughts,
Kimberly Lewis Rudolph
