Andrew Felkay

Andrew Felkay, PhD, 83, of Allentown, died on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He and his wife, Marcia (Stand) Felkay, celebrated 60 years of marriage on January 28. Born in Budapest, Hungary, he was the son of the late Gyula and Zsuzsanna (Olto) Felkay. Andrew earned his Doctorate from Temple University in International Studies, his Master's Degree from Hunter College, and received his Bachelor's Degree from Brooklyn College. He was a Veteran of the Army Reserves. Andrew was a Professor of Russian Studies at Kutztown University for 40 years retiring in 2005. Most recently he was teaching at the Learning and Retirement Program at Cedar Crest College. Throughout his career, Andrew had authored several books including a biography on Vladimir Putin that he was currently working on.

As a professor, Andrew had an excellent rapport with his students who enjoyed his informative, yet lively lectures. He was very friendly and could strike up a conversation with just about anybody.

He was a caring, loving husband and a devoted father to his two sons who considered him not only as a father but also as a good friend. He also adored his grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his family.

Survivors: His loving Wife; Sons, Robert A. Felkay and his wife Margaret and Michael A. Felkay and his wife Jennfer; Grandchildren, Elizabeth Felkay and William Felkay, Sabrina Grebner and her husband Erik and cousin, George Olto.
