Anna Torbey

Anna Torbey, 103 years, formerly of Orefield, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017, in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. Born in Egypt, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Kathryn Sokol. She was the owner of the former Bittner House in Slatington, and was also a salesperson in the book department at Kmart in Allentown. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Northampton. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Greene, of Whitehall; daughter-in-law, Grace Torbey, of Slatington; 4 grandchildren, Sherri, Michele, Gary, and Dennis; 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Dr. Edward Torbey; a brother, Charles Sokol; and a sister, Mary Puchyr Hankee. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Friday, March 31, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1343 Newport Ave., Northampton, PA 18067.
