Charles Sacks Obituary
Born in Norristown, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Barbara Sacks. Pete was a 1957 graduate of Allentown High School and attended Montana State College. He was the owner of Sacks Automotive & Towing, which was a AAA contractor for 34 years. Pete was a life-long mechanic, owning multiple gas stations and a truck stop in Bloomsbury, New Jersey prior to moving back to Pennsylvania. He also worked as the shop foreman at Preston Trucking for 10 years.
Pete was a proud member of the United Racing Sprint Car Club and owned racecars in 2 championship years. He was a member of the F&AM Phillipsburg Lodge #52 and the Allentown – Lehigh Consistory for more than 50 years.
Survivors: His loving wife, Beverly; daughters, Sherri Sacks-Martin and her husband Timothy of Douglas, MA and Staci Sacks Cesanek and her husband Robert, Jr. of Center Valley; 4 grandchildren, Connor Martin, Ryan Martin, Delaney Martin and Nicole Cesanek.
Services: A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 PM and Friday morning from 10-11 AM in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Inc., 46 E. Susquehanna Street, Allentown. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM on Friday, September 2, 2022 in the funeral home. Interment will be in Friedensville Cemetery, Center Valley.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, may be made to the Lehigh County Humane Society, 640 Dixon Street, Allentown, PA 18103.

Bev, I am so very sorry just heard of Pete's passing. Fate works in strange ways that had me able to reach out and come visit with Pete. Some of my fondest memories of learning how to work on cars and trucks is when Pete hired me 50 yrs ago. I believe the time I worked for you guys lead me to the career I pursued. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for the loss of an unusual character. More than just a shop owner, he was a friend with whom we shared issues and experiences. I fully enjoyed spending time and listening to his yarns while visiting the shop. My grandson Gavin also learned from interactions with Pete. We will both cherish what we learned about cars and life from this man.

I went to Wilson Elementary School and all through our early teens with Pete (I always called him Charles). I only saw him one time since then at his garage but have lots of memories. I am so sorry to see he passed and send his family my condolences.
