Charles H. Savitz, 93, of Allentown, formerly of Hanover Township, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Born in Catasauqua, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Mary (Shellheimer) Savitz. He was the husband of Pearl A. (Bender) and they celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary in July of 2005. Charles was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Schoenersville where he was active during the 40s and 50s and also a former president of the church board. He was employed by the former Grammes Implement Dealer of Orefield and previously managed and operated the former Bender Farms of Hanover Township. Charles was also a past member and president of the Catasauqua Rotary Club. Survivors: Surviving with his wife are sons, Robert C. and Mary A. of Weaversville, William B. and Nadine of Lehigh Township; niece, Ruth Koch;three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by a sister, Catherine Koch, granddaughter, Suzette Kropf and grandson, Danny Andreoli. Services: will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2006 at the Christ Lutheran Church, 2354 Grove Rd., Schoenersville, PA. Call from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Arrangements by the John H. Brubaker Funeral Home in Catasauqua. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the church.

Charles and Pearl have been cherished close by neighbors for 25 years. My wife Ruth (now in PHOEBE) and I have had many memory moments together. We indeed will miss Charles!
