Dale A. Dries

Dale A. Dries, 74, of Macungie, died March 24, 2022 in his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Lucy A. (Wittman) Dries. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Howard B and Elizabeth (Kocis) Dries. Dale was a graduate of Rider College. He owned and operated Dries Building Supply for 64 years. Dale was a board member of the former First Federal Savings and Loan and founding board member of East Penn Bank and Bank of Bird-in-Hand. He was a member of the Emmaus Rotary Club for almost 50 years and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Dale was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus, trustee at Kalmbach Park, Macungie, and was fond of military vehicles. Above all, he enjoyed living on his farm, racing cars, fishing, and hunting. Dale is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lucy; sons, Darren Dries and wife Eleanor of Macungie and Zachary Dries and wife Ashley of Macungie; grandchildren, Serenity, Kyra, Daemon, and Noah; sister, Rita wife of Stephen Goldman of Jacksonville, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wed. March 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM in St. Ann's Catholic Church, 415 S. 6th St., Emmaus. Viewing Tue., March 29, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus and Wed. from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the church. Interment will follow in St Peter's Union Cemetery, Macungie. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dale's name may be made to the Wescoe Foundation for Pulmonary Fibrosis, 229 N. Main St., Coopersburg, PA 18036.
