Dale A. Ziegler

Dale Abram Ziegler, 77, of Albrightsville, PA, died on Monday, March 25, 2013. Born on October 22, 1935 in Lanark, PA, he was the youngest of four children of the late Abram Abe K. Ziegler and Arlene The Cake Lady E. (Schaffer) Ziegler. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald K. Ziegler and one of his sisters, Jean (Wicker) Jones. He was a graduate of Allen High School and served in the U.S. Navy. Early in his career, he was employed by Durkee Foods and then by D.F. Bast Trucking. Dale was a very hardworking, self-made man and entrepreneur. Some of his businesses included: Ziegler Pallet Co. in Ormrod, The Hotel Grand in Allentown and Ormrod Salvage Co. He had long term residences in Bethlehem, in Ormrod and at Towamensing Trails in Albrightsville. He enjoyed hunting as a pastime. He is fondly remembered by many in the Lehigh Valley, The Poconos and beyond. Those who knew Dale may remember him as a hard worker and helpful to others, but they may also remember him with a smile on his face, a beer in his hand, and joking with friends and acquaintances. Survivors: Loving wife, Jeanne-Marie (Pfaff) Ziegler; children, Brian Dale Ziegler and his wife, Linda Krisko, of Bethlehem, Jill Ann Kalaris and her husband, Tom, of Ashburn, VA, and Barry Ziegler of Brighton-le-Sands, Sydney, Australia; sister, Gloria (Transue) Nikles of Allentown; his first wife, Patricia (Trotter) Kospiah of Naples, FL; grandsons, Matt, Evan, and Adam Kalaris; and nieces and nephews, Raelene, Rodney, Guy, Dawn, Dean, Doug, and Danny, all who considered their Uncle Dale to be their favorite. Services: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th and Hamilton Streets, Allentown. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., in the funeral home. Interment in St. Pauls Blue Church Cemetery, Coopersburg.
