Daniel R. Tarola
Daniel R. Tarola, 79, of Bethlehem, died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the loving husband of Margaret (Stummer) Tarola for 57 years. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of Anselmo and Philomena (Williams) Tarola. He was a graduate of Bethlehem Vo-Tech, where he performed in the minstrel shows. He worked for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 42 years in the 12 x 18 rolling mills and the Basic Oxygen Furnace until retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. John Capistrano Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, the Noodle Group and served as an usher. Danny served the Lord in every way he could. Danny loved woodworking and made over 100 donkey flower carts. A picture of his wooden train engine riding car was featured in Workbench Magazine. He was a member of Steelworkers Union 2599, the M.O.R.A. Club, M.O.R.A. Bowling Team, M.O.R.A. Chorus, Golden Hillers Seniors and served for eight years on the Musikfest Flower Committee. Danny was lovingly known as Uncle Happy. Survivors: He will be sadly missed by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Marjorie A. Mainhart of Hellertown; son, Daniel P. and his wife, Faina, of Nagog Woods, Mass.; grandchildren, Andrew Mainhart of Bethlehem and Sara Mainhart and her fiance, Christopher Brown, of Macungie; sisters, Antoinette Antoccia of Bethlehem, Stella Hussar and her husband, Louis, of Northampton and Philomena Giandemenico and her husband, Vincent, of Allentown; brothers, Arthur and his wife, Bernie and Albert and his wife, Dorina, all of Bethlehem. He was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Henry Tarola, and son-in-law, Tim Mainhart. Services: Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John Capistrano Catholic Church, 910 E. Fourth St., Bethlehem. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 6-8:30 p.m. in Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill. Interment will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. www.cantelmifuneralhome.com. Contributions: May be made to the church.
