Darlene A. Rex

1930 - 2022

Darlene A. (Hoffman) Rex, 91, formerly of Whitehall, died Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Ocean University Medical Center, Brick, NJ. She was the wife of the late Reynold M. Rex. Born in Egypt, Whitehall Township, October 28, 1930, Darlene was the daughter of the late Dallas J. and Edna M. (Wotring) Hoffman. She was employed as Secretary and Dictaphone Operator at Equifax, Inc. in Allentown from 1976 – 1983. Darlere also was the bookkeeper for her husband's company, Reynold M. Rex Builder, for 39 years before retiring in 1998.

Acitve in the life of her church and community, she was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall where she formerly sang with the choir, and was a member of the Altar Guild and ELCW. Additionally, Darlene was a charter member of the Whitehall Township Women's Club, 50-year member of Rose Croix Chapter # 235, O.E.S., Catasauqua, life member of the Woman's Auxiliary of Albright College and Muhlenberg College. She also was a member of the Auxiliary of The Lutheran Home at Topton, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Lehigh Consistory.

Survivors: Daughters, Reylene A. Starego and her husband, Raymond with whom she resided in Brick, NJ, Janell H. Rex of Billerica, MA; brother, Carvel D. Hoffman of Bethlehem; grandson, Anthony J. Starego of Brick, NJ; predeceased by sisters, Erna R. Feidler, Leona R. Heil.

Service: Funeral services will be held 11:00 am. Friday, March 4, 2022 in the Zentz Community Center, Fellowship Community, 3020 Fellowship Drive, Whitehall with the Rev. Philip E. Yerrington officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 am. – 11:00 am. in the Zentz Center. Interment will follow the service at Egypt Cemetery.
