David P. Stegeman
David P. Stegeman, 69, passed February 17, 2013. He was born December 20, 1943 in Stratford, Connecticut. Dave was the son of the late David and Joan (Spada) Stegeman. He was a loving husband for 26 years to Deanna (Hollabaugh) Stegeman. Dave graduated from Southern Lehigh High School in 1962. He was Captain of his high school golf team and won the 1962 District 11 Championship. In the same year, he placed third in the PA Interscholastic Golf Tournament. Dave is the only golfer to win back to back (1962 and 1963) PA Public Links Championships in Hershey. Dave was a member of the inaugural class inducted into the Southern Lehigh High School Sports Hall of Fame in May of 1991. He won many Philadelphia Section tournaments during the height of his competitive years. In May of 1998, he was the winner of the Rittenhouse Trust Company Golf Classic in Radnor, PA. Also, in 1998, Dave qualified to play in the US Senior Open at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Dave began as an Assistant Golf Professional at Lehigh Country Club. Services: A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 25 Franklin Street, Biglerville, PA. Interment at 10 a.m. in the Biglerville Cemetery with full military honors. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, Dave requests memorial contributions be made to the Greater Philadelphia Junior Golf Foundation.
