My Brother David was one of a kind, no other like him. He loved his rock music, Guns N Roses especially! His favorite team was the Eagles, he watched General Hospital religiously. His poems & his stories were his passion. To know David was to love him. I looked forward to bringing him home to visit whether it was a special occasion [holiday, birthday, etc...] or just to visit. He liked to play Farkle [a dice game ] w/ our Mother when he was home & sit outside in the sun to tan in the summer. Him & i talked about bringing him home again this spring & its just around the corner so i am very saddened because this spring just wont be the same. He made alot of friends in his lifetime wherever he went regardless of his situation, people saw through & past that & saw my brother David for the loving, caring, sharing, thoughtful & genuine person he was. Yes he was a diamond in the rough but he truly shined! Thanks to all the people that cared for & loved my Brother David, you made the difference between him just being a patient in a facility that had no one & not much to look forward to on a daily basis while he was there but instead he had lots of friends that saw his talents & shared personal time w/ him & became a part of his daily life.

To David's family, I would like to express my sincere sorrow in the passing of David. I was one of his nurses at Cedarbrook and I miss him dearly. I miss him giving me his latest poem or story that he wrote for me to read. He had great insight into life. I miss his music blasting throughout the unit from his room even with the door closed especially when he was upset with all of us. I hope you will find peace in his passing through your memories of him.
