Edith Bartholomew
Edith M. Bartholomew, formerly of Catasauqua, died Friday, December 19, 2008 in her residence at Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township. She was the wife of the late Earl S. Bartholomew. Born in Bangor, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Annie (Jones) Jones. Edith was a member of the former Grace United Methodist Church, Catasauqua. She had been a Cub Scout leader for 35 years. Edith was also a member of the Catasauqua Mothers Club as well as the Garden Club. Survivors: Surviving are her son, William and his wife, Dorothy Vogel, of Macungie; sister, Gladys Ilko in Georgia; grandchildren, Vickie and her husband, Frank Faehlinger, Vince and his wife, Sabina Vogel, Alan and his wife, Bonnie Vogel, Kristina and her husband, Tony Morocco, Ryan and his wife, Mercedes Bartholomew; six great-grandchildren. Edith was preceded in death by a son, Donald Thumbs Bartholomew, a brother, Hugh Jones, and a sister, Mary Schmoyer. Services: will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2008 in the Brubaker Funeral Home Inc., 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua, 18032.
