It has been one month since I lost my husband and I miss him everyday. He was a great man and we loved each other very much. It is with everyone's love and support that I am able to wake up everyday and go on with my life. Thank you all so much. Ed will always be with me and his strength inspires me. I know that some day we will be together again.

I just heard the news from Kathy Nau about Ed's passing. A few years back Ed did some plumbing work for my mother Helen and my friend Blake. He was a great plumber and really nice guy. He told us the story of him making turduken. Even though I do not know you personally Michelle, he spoke of you while he did his work and told us about your fishing and camping trips. I understand your loss fully as I too am a young widow, I lost my husband suddenly at St Lukes on November 20th. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family at this difficult time.

As I've read the countless entries in this book, I'm taken back to the night when 600+ family and friends came to say farewell for now. I've seen several entries from Maitz employees. Even though I have years of memories of "Edwardo!" as I used to call him, my most recent memories were seeing that Maitz van at 7-11 every morning where Eddie and I were both buying our coffee. He had a bright smile on his face even that early in the morning! Judy, that was beautiful what you wrote. Edna and George, if the light in Michelle's eyes have dimmed, please have her get in touch with me. She'll know how. Sue Parker

Our beautiful daughter, Michelle, has lost the "love of her life". So suddenly Ed was taken without a whisper or a shout. There was nothing more to be done his time had come. Just one more hour, day, week or year was not meant to be.
Ed had a big heart and loved intensely-his wife, family, co-workers, and friends. I am asking everyone to help us now. Michelle needs support from all.
We lit a candle for Ed, but the light in her eyes has dimmed, and the glow of her face changed. All for a love story that ended too soon. Love Ya Ed. Rest In Peace.

Michelle...I had only a short time with Ed moving from Lancaster to the Lehigh Valley area. Ed took me completely by surprise when I started at Maitz. That man grew on me over time in a way no one could ever do. We had alot of pretty deep talks about work and life at times. I think about him daily and really miss seeing him. My heart aches for everyone that was so very close to him and knew him longer than myself. I never knew a city guy could love the outdoors so much! When I see him I will be reminding him he owes me some deer meat!!! I pray God will encompass your life with comfort....Ed is not gone...he will always be in our memories and hearts...his spirit lives on forever!

600+ came to the funeral home last night to say goodbye to Ed. What a tribute! He was a wonderful son, a great brother, the perfect husband and a faithful friend. He will be missed by his aunt, uncles, nieces, cousins, his in-laws who absolutely loved him, his beloved Baxter, his step brothers and sisters, and even his great nephews. I know there is a void felt by all his friends who will miss him terribly. As we viewed the pictures at the funeral home and talked to all the folks that attended, I realized that, as always, I can say that I am proud to be his mother.
We will hold all of these fond memories close to our hearts and in that way we will keep him alive in our hearts and they also will help to sustain us during this difficult time. I know that soon, because of the ressurection that God has promised we will meet Ed again.

Judy, Vince and Michelle,
I cannot begin to put into words how sorry am I to hear of Eddie's passing. I loved Eddie. I'll never forget coaching both Eddie and Vince at Mountainville back in the 70's. You could never miss Eddie. He was always the one with the smile on his face - always. As the years went on I'd run into him here and there, always with that Eddie smile. We'd chat, give each other a big hug and he'd always say, "Thanks coach." Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Making someone laugh is one of the best qualities a person can have, and he did that well...when you have laughter, you have love.
