Eugene F. Bud Kriner, 88, of 633 Berger Street, Emmaus, passed into eternal rest on April 9, at ManorCare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Alice M. Owens who preceded him in death in January, 1997. Born in Stetlersville, Pa., he was a son of the late John C. and Annie Guth Kriner Sr. He was a member of St. Matthews Evangelical Congregational Church, Emmaus. Bud served his country during World War II with The United States Army Air Corps 501st Bomb Group, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant as an airplane maintenance technician during the Asiatic Pacific theatre of operations when the B-17 Liberator was utilized. He later worked in the automobile industry as a sales manager for Alden-MacLellan Dodge Plymouth of Bethlehem and later for their Ford dealership in Allentown. He was most recently employed by Kelly Ford of Allentown and Kelly Buick of Emmaus as a sales manager prior to his retirement. He loved fishing the Jordan Creek and Leaser Lake with his fellow retirees, and Lodge Bretheren. Among his memberships were Emmaus Lodge F & AM No. 792, the Mercantile Club, Emmaus, Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, Valley of Allentown, Rajah Shrine, Reading, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Bethlehem Forest 61, Bethlehem, Lehigh Valley High Twelve Club No. 493, The Lehigh Shrine Club, The Grand and Glorious Hillbillys Outhouse 1, Clan 9, Lehigh Valley Grundsow Lodsch Nummer Dreizeh an Die Insche Grick, the 315th Bomb Wing Association, and the Allen O. Delke Post 16 American Legion, Slatington, where he held membership for 56 continuous years. Survivors: Several nieces and nephews; close friend, Betty Heinly, formerly of Emmaus. He was preceded in death by an infant son, James Owen, three brothers, John Jack Jr., Richard, and Ray, five sisters, Lillie Reed, Mabel Sherer, Marie Heckman, Phronia Wiltraut, and Esther Albright. Services: Graveside, Friday, April 13 at 11 a.m. at Western Salisbury Union Church Cemetery, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown, with the Reverend Don H. Wert Officiating. Call 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 12, at the Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, 4th and Iron Streets, Lehighton. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Matthews E.C. Church, 5th and Ridge Streets, Emmaus, PA, 18049, Emmaus Masonic Lodge, 48 North 2nd Street, Emmaus, PA 18049, Heartland Hospice, 1265 Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown, PA 18103 or lodge or charity of choice.
