Frank J. Kern
Frank J. Kern, 90, of Allentown, died August 20 in St. Lukes Hospital, Allentown Campus. He was the husband of the late Anna K. (Kolson) Kern. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Frank and Theresa (Meixner) Kern. Je was co-owner and operator of K & K Barber Shop, Allentown, for 40 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus, Calvary Council 528, both of Allentown. He was in the Navy Seabees during World War II. Survivors: Son, Francis J. and his wife Dawn M. (Dech) of Allentown; sisters, Hilda Vrecsics of Bethlehem, Lillian Fisher of Coral Springs, Fla. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Kohut Funeral Home, 950 N. Front St., Allentown. Call 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville. On-line condolences available at www.kohutfuneralhome.com. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, to Phoebe Home, c/o the funeral home 18102-1912.
