Frederick Britton Obituary

Frederick Britton Jr.
Frederick M. Britton Jr., a 27-year resident of Hilltown, previously of Rushland, died Thursday, February 28, 2008, at Doylestown Hospital. He was 85. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dolsey Dolly Genghini Britton, on April 23, 2007. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Frederick M. Jack and Stella (Bruggert) Britton and brother of the late Joan Kramer. Fred was a veteran of the Navy, enlisting immediately following the attack on Pearl Harbor, to serve in the South Pacific theater. Mr. Britton retired in 1985 after 35 years of employment with Fischer and Porter as a glassblower. He was an avid gardener, joke teller and card player. Survivors: Loving children and their spouses, Frederick M. Britton III and his wife Maria A. Turdo of Holland, M. Deborah Deb Henry and her husband John M. Jr. of Perkasie; dear grandchildren, Michael J. and Alyson B. Henry, Danielle P. and Lea T. Britton; extended group of loving family and friends. Services: Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, from 10 a.m. until his Christian Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (Route 202 and Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Pine Run Lakeview, 2425 Lower State Rd., Doylestown, PA 18901.

Debbie and John, and family -- I'm so sorry about the loss of Deb's dad. No matter what age, we miss our parents when they are gone. Hold on to the good time and the memories.

I will always remember Uncle Fred's laughter as we sat around the pool at Aunt Anne's & Uncle Frank's. All us kids: Mary, Lynn, Frankie, Freddie, Debbie, Raymond, Royce, Mike & me, Ruth.
