Gary Poecker Obituary

Gary W. Poecker, 53, of Bangor, died Jan. 9 in Easton Hospital. He was married to Rosemary R. (Zoppo) Poecker for 29 years last June. He was a teacher and supervisor for North Warren Regional School, Blairstown, N.J. He also taught for Pequannock (N.J.) High School for seven years. A graduate of Wyndham College, Poultney, Vt., he received a master's degree from East Stroudsburg University. Born in Pompton Plains, N.J., he was a son of Dorothy (Grey) Poecker in Oregon and the late Wilson F. Poecker. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Bangor. He was a member of the North Warren Regional Schools Supervisors Union and the New Jersey Supervisors Association, and a former counselor for the Slate Belt Pregnancy Crisis Center, Bangor. Survivors: Wife; mother; son, Ted of Paterson, N.J.; daughter, Edye Kamenir of Princeton, N.J.; brother, Rick, and sister, Carol Norton, both in Oregon. Survivors: Mass, 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Call 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday and 10-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, 314 S. First St., Bangor.
