To the Baldwin Family--I'm sorry for your loss. I played for coach in the early 80's I went to Kutztown because of him, unfortunately I left when he went to New England. (I was proud that he went to the NFL) I've always thought of him and what a huge impression he made on me in a short time. Recently, I started thinking of him a lot and looking him up see how he was found this sad news. He was a great man.

George Baldwin was one of the greatest coaches in Bergen County history. He influenced numerous players into coaching, teaching, and private business.
I would ask present day coaches to read this coach's great history and influence. He taught you life lessons that did last a lifetime and beyond.
God Rest you Coach Baldwin, we will never see this era of coaching again.

To The Baldwin Family: I played at West Chester State College and Coach Baldwin was our line coach. Playing for Coach was always inspiring, he never took a play off, years after playing for him as a young coach he stopped me at a clinic. Within 15 minutes were out on the road running just like we did in Pads when we were at WC running the CC courses. He said to me he didn't want his former players to go back to teammates and say he was out of shape. He was an inspiring man who made me realize it is always "lLive" in any drill to be ready for the real game requirements. I am a stronger coach because of Coach Baldwin. May he rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Mike ( Mole) Gallagher class of 1973 West Chester State.

Ahhh Uncle Bud! What a wonderful man!
Candy, Tommy, Patti and Debbie, I am truly sorry for your loss. Your father was one of a kind. All my memories of your dad bring a smile to my face.
When my dad passed away, he held me until I could cry no more. I have never forgotten that. Like I said, he was one of a kind!
Love to all of you

So very sorry to hear of the passing of "Uncle Bud." My dad served in the Marines with him, and I have very fond memories of my visits with the Baldwins in Pennsylvania. Uncle Bud was such a kind man, and I treasure the last few conversations I had with him. No doubt he and my dad are whooping it up again as I type.

To the Baldwin family, George was the first coach at KU that I had interaction with. He was kind, had a sense of humor but knew how the keep the guys in line. A down to earth guy who never let his position go to his head. He will be sadly missed.

Tommy, Debbie, Patty and Candy,
My father was your father's "Cuz." Some of my fondest memories of you and your Mom and Dad hark back to Glenn Mills when your Dad coached at West Chester. I always enjoyed going to the family reunions. I can still remember your Grandmother, my Aunt Carrie, and her "wet" kisses. Time goes much to fast. To me it seems like only a few weeks ago that we were gathering for the family reunions. The last time I saw your Mom and Dad was at their house in Kutztown. I estimate that it was 35 years ago, although it seems like yesterday. Your Mom and Dad are in my thoughts and in my prayers. I am sure "Uncle Bud" is coaching a "heavenly" football team. I also expect that he is running along with his team. He never made them do anything that he would not do. You and each of your families will be in my prayers. As a side note, for the last 20 years my wife and I have been living in East Goshen a mere 3 miles from your Glenn Mills house. Every once in a while I do ride past the property and enjoy the good feelings that surface.

Coach and Mrs. B are together again. What a good man. Wonderful memories growing up. The trampoline, swimming pools, farms, horses, football, more than a few rules, and always lots of fun. Learned a lot from the Baldwins. Hugs and prayers for the family. I know my dad will be there to greet him, and they will always be with us in spirit.

I had the privilege of playing football against Coach Baldwin's teams while a student at Fair Lawn HS in New Jersey from 1957 to 1959. His teams were high-spirited and well-disciplined ... a reflection of his coaching and personal values. We were fortunate to defeat the Englewood Maroon Raiders in '59 after suffering embarassing losses the first two years of our rivalry. May the Baldwin family be at peace knowing that Coach's life was one that positively touched so many. God bless you all in this moment of personal grief.

Coach Baldwin's football teams were always prepared, and well trained. Many of Englewood squads managed to defeat larger schools with much bigger talent pools, only because Baldwin's teams were better coached, and better conditioned.
Many of the standards Coach Baldwin advocated also helped his players compete, and accomplish goals in life after football.
He never "cut" any player who was willing to work hard, and compete for the good of the team.
Coach will always be remembered and loved by those who were fortunate to have played on his teams.

Coach taught us that with determination and hard work we could overcome and rise above life's challenges. "Lads, there's a bit of a nip in the air", he'd say as he sent us out to run our miles in the frigid December morning . Coach, with your passing there's a nip ∈ the air. Rest in peace . My sincerest condolences to the family. Eli Grier DMHS1962

Coach,
You have been a part of my life and who I am from a very young age. From swimming in your pool as a very young boy, riding horses in West Chester, to spraying all the girls with water while they were trying to sunbathe. Your dog named cat, cat name dog still make me laugh. Duck egg salad for lunch? Yea, it was great.
You taught me that being both unique and discipline was not impossible, but it made you an even better person.
I could not think of a better day of the year for a man like you to pass on to be with your wonderful wife and most importantly God.
You are already missed, but we are all thankful for our time with you.
When you see my Dad, tell him how much I miss him and think of him every day. I am sure you two will be watching some great football games together and talking shop.

"Coach" was a wonderful and caring man who was loved by all who came in contact with him. He left his mark on this world making it a better place and he will not soon be forgotten! He always had such an amazing smile that lit up the room and always an encouraging word or lending hand. Even at the age of 90 he was volunteering every Saturday at FL Hospital Oceanside/Penninsula Rehab Center serving and assisting our inpatient rehab patients --- He will be GREATLY missed by both the staff and the patients! George, thank you for being my friend even though we were 60 yrs apart in age! I am a better person having known you. Love you Coach!

I was sad to learn of the passing of this great coach. My Fair Lawn High School football teams were honored to play against his MAROON RAIDERS of Englewood. I vividly remember 1959 when Frank Bennett's CUTTERS edged George Baldwin's MAROON RAIDERS 13-12 in Fair Lawn's maiden season in the Northern New Jersey Interscholastic League (NNJIL). May he rest in peace.
