John Hanas
John Hanas, 78, of 214 E. Bertsch St., Lansford died on December 24, 2009 at Lehigh Valley Hospice in Allentown. He was the husband of Lillian (Marchalk) Hanas to whom he was married 56 years this past January. Born in Lansford, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Kapral) Hanas. He was self-employed as an Upholsterer and owned and operated Art Craft Upholstering Company in Tamaqua for 48 years. He Served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict from 1949 to 1952. Survivors: Surviving along with his wife Lillian is a son, Chris at home; four daughters, Karen Eckhart and her husband Eugene of Lehighton, Sharon Yurko of Summit Hill, Marilyn McCarroll and her husband Michael of Summit Hill, and Beth Duke and her husband Kevin of Coaldale; a brother Michael Hanas and his wife Barbara of Arizona; two sisters, Jeanette Frantz of Palmerton, and Anna Mae Hanas of Arizona; Five Grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Stemetzki. Services:Private Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, 12/30/09 at the convenience of the family. Interment at Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Arrangements are being handled by the Skrabak-Parambo Funeral Home, 210 E. Bertsch St., Lansford.

To Mrs. Hanas and family: We just learned of the passing of Mr. Hanas tonight and our hearts go out to your entire family. He was a great man, which is evidenced by the legacy of his great family. He will be missed but never forgotten. May God bless you all with His grace and comfort in knowing that Mr. Hanas is blessed with eternal life. My deepest condolences in the passing of Mr. Hanas. He and my dad (John Philipovic ) had great times working together and now as they meet again in Heaven, they can again share great memories together.
