John Luchansky Obituary

John P. Luchansky 86, of North Catasauqua, passed away on Monday May 24, 2021. Born at home in North Catasauqua, Pa. on 12/8/1934 he was a son of the late John F. and Anna (Repko) Luchansky. John married Mary Kathryn (Cunningham) with whom he had three children, John B Luchansky (Laure), Mary K. wife of Tim Riegel, and Daniel J. Luchansky (Lora). John had 9 beautiful grandchildren from that marriage to Mary. John has two great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by Mary in 1983. John then remarried Donna (Hirshman) Luchansky in 1998, and has two step daughters. Annie wife of Mike Williams, and Carrie Hirshman (partner Ryan) and three step grandchildren. He was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in North Catasauqua. John was employed as a Draftsman by Bethlehem Steel for many years and then was employed by Mack Trucks until he retired in 1984. He then became a self employed consultant. John was a lifelong resident of North Catasauqua and was the borough treasurer for several years. He also served as a Northampton County councilman for several years. Upon his retirement he enjoyed serving as tipstaff for Lehigh County Court until 2018. John was an avid fisherman and a self taught talented handyman. He was always eager to spend precious time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. John's grandchildren are; Sarah wife of Matthew Sholly, Samantha Luchansky, Stephanie Luchansky, Stephen Luchansky, Jonathan Riegel and wife Jackie, Mary Rose Luchansky, Eric Luchansky and wife Anna, Emily Luchansky, and Andrew Luchansky. Step grandchildren; Miranda, Dylan, & Drew. Great grandchildren; Myles Riegel, and Madison Rose Sholly. John was preceded in death by his siblings; Andrew, Paul, and Rose. Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in John's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements entrusted to the O'Donnell Funeral Home, of North Catasauqua.

I am so sorry for your loss!
I remember John from when I was a little girl being up at the playground with his family to many years later seeing the two of you in church and always having our seats right behind you, John, your daughter and granddaughter.
