John Walker Obituary

John C. Walker, Jr.
John Connard Walker, Jr., 91, of Allentown, formerly of Dalton, PA, died February 24, 2010 in Devon House, Allentown. He was the husband of Katharine L. (Olivit) Walker for the past 65 years. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John Connard Walker, Sr. and Margaret (ONeil) Walker. He was a long term resident of 40 years in Dalton. His employment consisted of being President of the Germantown Steam Company and as owning and operating a HVAC Company. A Navy veteran of WWII, he was awarded the Purple Heart and served on the USS Halligan in the European and Pacific theaters. Survivors: Wife, Katharine; two daughters, Margaret, wife of Dan Larter of Allentown and Kathy, wife of Bruce Etchell of Healdsburg, CA; grandchildren, Kristen Gryskevich of Brownsburg, IN, Alison MacArthur of Los Angeles, CA, Zara Messinger of Redway, CA and Travis Richman of San Jose, CA; and six great-grandchildren, Parker and Caden Gryskevich, Connor, Cameron and Kylie Messinger, and Ronin Richmond. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, in the Tuscan room at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton Sts., Allentown. Viewing will be 10:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Hospice, 2268 S. 12th St., Suite 404, Allentown, PA 18103.

Dear Margie, Dan and families:
I trust you know how much I will miss this loyal sailor. He meant alot to me personally and I know that many of our staff will miss him dearly.
