June Alberta Tackett, 90, passed away peacefully February 6, 2017, in Gilbert, AZ. June was born in Paxton, NE on September 20, 1926, to Edward Raymond and Maude Clovisa Blake. On June 8, 1952, June married Charles Edward Tackett at Paxton Methodist Church. June graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1948. In 1950 she was appointed to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps Reserve. In 1974 June graduated with her Master's Degree from Rider College in Trenton, NJ. June enjoyed teaching Business in Bethlehem, PA at Liberty and Freedom High Schools before retiring in 1985. Charles and June retired to Rolla, MO in 1992. Survivors: Survivors include her daughter, Leslie A. Tackett of Gilbert, AZ, son, Michael C. (Karen)Tackett of Henderson, KY, sister Karen (Frank) Bargell of Sterling, CO, brother David (Carol) Blake of Prescott, AZ and sister-in-law, Priscilla Blake of Mesa, AZ. June also leaves three grandchildren, Rachel Angst of Gilbert, AZ, Jourdan (John) Foley of Vincennes, IN and Drew Tackett of Corydon, KY. June has two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Charles E. Tackett in 2001. Brothers Clinton Blake and Clifford Blake also preceded June. Services: There will be no visitation. Private graveside services will be held later in Kirby Flats Cemetery in Ashland, KY where June will be buried alongside Charles. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Aegis Hospice in Chandler, AZ.
