Kenneth Moyer

Kenneth R. Moyer, 85, of Salisbury Twp., passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 in his home, surrounded by his family. He and his wife, Doris B. (Diehl) Moyer, celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in December. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late Llewellyn B. and Marian M. (Gross) Moyer. Ken served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, receiving a purple heart. He was a carrier for United States Postal Service for 29 years, and he was a lifetime member of the Fireman's Association. Ken was well loved by his children, an image of generosity and forgiveness. He was also an accomplished carpenter and gardener, sharing the fruits of his labor with all. Survivors: his loving wife, Doris; daughters, Carol Valentino and her husband Vincent of Pottstown, Peggy Ann Herring of Allentown and Karen Buck and her husband Michael of Bethlehem; son, Richard Dorward and his wife Linda of Oxnard, CA; brother, Edward Moyer of Whitehall; sister, Elizabeth Moyer of Allentown; 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by a brother Richard Moyer and a sister Dorothy Matthew. He was quietly admired by so many and will be sorely missed. Services: Private, at Ken's request.
