Larry R. Dieter Sr.

1938 - 2022

84, of Whitehall, PA passed away at home on December 26, 2022. Larry was born on August 25, 1938, in Catasauqua, PA. He graduated from Whitehall High School in 1956 and went on to serve in the United States Army. He worked for Phoenix Forging Company for many years and Dunbar Security. He was also self-employed as a machinist and tool sharpener. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Catasauqua and a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers, AFL-CIO, CFL. Upon retirement, he enjoyed his weekly auction nights and spending time with his family. He will be forever remembered as a Pop Pop who made jewelry, tinkered with machines, helped with science fair, painted Knick knacks and loved sweets of all kinds. He was the husband of the late Gail (Woodring) Dieter, who died in 1985. Larry and Gail went on to have four children, Pamela, Donna, Larry Jr., and Lisa. He was the son of the late Harold A. and Miriam F. (Millen) Dieter. He is survived by his daughter Pamela (Dieter) Duff and husband David of South Whitehall Township. Grandson Corey Edelman at home, granddaughter Mikaela Jones (wife of Christopher Nemesch), who passed away November 6, 2022. Daughter Donna (Dieter) Bhagat and husband Hemant of Zionsville, and their three children Jesse, Evan and Jaya. Son Larry Jr. of Whitehall and daughter Lisa Dieter of Allentown and her daughter Arianna. Two great grandchildren Bentley and Aubriella Nemesch and brother Daniel D. Dieter of Whitehall, Pennsylvania.

Services to be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Gilbert Funeral Home 444 Pershing Boulevard, Whitehall. Friends and Family may call from 10:00-11:00 A.M.
