Maryellen G. Sharp,72, of Allentown, PA and Delray Beach, FL, passed away November 25 at home after fighting a battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Norman N. Sharp celebrating more than 54 years of marriage. Born in Egypt, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Frances (Roth) Diehl. A graduate of Whitehall High School, Maryellen worked for several insurance companies and served at that time as president of the Lehigh Valley Insurance Womens Club. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Northampton. Maryellen, blessed with a love of music and a beautiful voice, sang as a soloist with several groups including her church choir, the Women of Note Present, the Colonial Club Choral Group of Boynton Beach, FL, the Lehigh Valley Millennium Choir and more. Survivors: Husband; sisters, Lorretta Lipositz of Northampton, Caroline, wife of Dennis Frantz, of Center Valley; brother, Richard Diehl and his wife, Carol of Penn Forest; caregiver, Joan Schoemaker, of Allentown; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Norman A. Sharp. Services: 9:30 a.m. Monday, Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home, 327 Chestnut St., Coplay followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in the church. Family and friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
