Pete Sharp of
Arlington, Indiana, the sweet grey and white tabby boy of the Sharp family, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday, January 28, 2028. Pete was born Wednesday, March 7, 2012, and he arrived at the shelter on July 10, 2012. He was part of the PetSmart Adoption program. His lucky day was when he was adopted by his human mama, Sheryl Rhoades, on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, and was hers until she sadly passed in August of 2022. He then transitioned to become part of the Sharp family and fit right in.
The family shared memories of how they "loved how Pete would cuddle with Butters, climb on high things, loved to be on top of Nana's cabinets, and how he would rub up on Rowdy which made Rowdy very uncomfortable."
What the family loved the most about Pete was "his head butts and just his overall happy personality."
His family described his personality as being "aggressively affectionate, dog-like, mellow, and very go-with-the-flow."
Pete enjoyed being groomed not by humans but by the other cats. Makenzie also shared, "Pete had a sensitive tummy, but if you left a cup of milk or cereal out, he would drink out of it every time. He also enjoyed wet food made into a soup."
Pete absolutely did not care for going on car rides.
According to Makenzie, Pete was a cat who enjoyed playing with "pens and pencils, cough drops, and hair ties." Pete was such a funny character. Makenzie shared, "He would fight with the other cats over sleeping spots, steal cough drops from the bag and even purses, and he'd get cat zoomies all the time."
Pete went by the nicknames of "Peter," "Peter Cottontail," "Pete Pete with the Little White Feet," and multiple other Pete alternatives.
Pete adored his human mama, Sheryl, and was always by her side. After she passed away, you would find Pete snuggled up and happily cuddling with whoever would take him, especially if they had a blanket on their lap.
Pete and his sweet personality will be missed, but his memory will always be remembered by his family, who loved him.
Pete is survived by Shanna, Jason, Makenzie, and Gavin Sharp, as well as his cat brother Peyton and sister Delilah, along with his dog brother Rowdy.
Pete was greeted across the Rainbow Bridge by his human mama, Sheryl Rhoades. who was waiting to welcome him, as well as cat siblings Butters and Oreo and his dog siblings Boiler and Baleigh.
